Birst Springs Forward Into an Exciting Year With Third Annual User Conference
San Francisco, CA, –
Birst Inc., the leader in Cloud BI, last week concluded its third annual user conference, Birst FORWARD 2014, bringing together customers and partners from around the world to the city where Birst was founded and is headquartered today. With more than 250 in attendance, the conference took place on the heels of an exciting year for Birst that included significant new partnerships – and a recently announced OEM partner program – as well as innovative product releases, including the Birst Visualizer. In addition to presentations and workshops designed to share BI best practices and hands-on training, the event also celebrated Birst’s customers and their continued success, assembling a group of like-minded individuals to learn from each other’s experiences, successes and even their missteps.
In an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the conference, athenahealth earned the ‘Most Innovative’ award, after its director of core analytics, Adam Weinstein, and his team implemented Birst in record time to provide analytics that would coincide with the build out of its new Customer Nerve Center. John Gordos, associate director of application development at SunnyD, won the Birst ‘Administrator of the Year’ award for his masterly data modeling and mashups using the Birst platform, while the ‘Business User of the Year’ was awarded to Kellogg’s Company HR Analyst Jeff Kurth, who helped Kellogg’s understand employee demographics reporting, call center metrics, and is now focusing on helping the company’s recruiters work more effectively by harnessing the power of BI. DiamondStream, Financial Times, Haights Cross, Hajoca, Musco, Valen and Veracode also earned honorable mentions for their innovative and successful use of Birst’s BI platform. The ‘Partner of the Year’ award went to strategic consulting and technical staffing firm CorSource, whose CEO presented together with Wind River Systems’ CIO. The two leaders discussed their successful implementation of Birst’s end-to-end BI solution and how its implementation has impacted business at Wind River.
“Our customers and partners are extremely important to us, and we’re proud to see them share such brilliant examples of using Birst to gain insight into how to better run their organizations,” said Birst CEO Jay Larson. “After a fantastic year of growth, new partnerships, and new products, it was wonderful to bring everyone together to reflect on how far BI has advanced and to discuss how it will continue to evolve.”
The Birst FORWARD 2014 conference was loaded with information-packed sessions presented by Birst experts, partners, and customers and was spread across multiple tracks for developers, business analysts, and enterprise leaders who are deploying BI in their organizations and integrating analytics within their products. This year the conference introduced the new Brews and Views Design-A-Thon, in which users collaborated to build spontaneous visualizations using the new Birst Visualizer. Birst FORWARD also hosted a dedicated Embedded BI track which coincided with the announcement of its new OEM partner program for customers who are embedding Birst into their applications.
Attendees were able to gain insight from presentations by Birst customers, including athenahealth, DocuSign, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, Principal Financial Group, Valen Analytics and Wind River Systems. The conference was sponsored by CorSource, Analytics8, Cervello, Cloud Sherpas, Eagle Creek, Primitive Logic, BIPB, Audaxium, DMG Federal, Acumen Solutions, NetSuite, TriCore Solutions, EigenX, Nebula Partners, Salesforce, and Intelligent Consulting.
