The announcement strengthens and accelerates Birst's growth by adding a proven leader in the Canadian Business Intelligence market.
Birst enables companies to make more intelligent business decisions by unifying, refining and embedding data into every decision across an organization. With its unique 2-tier analytics technology, customers can combine centrally managed enterprise data with decentralized user-generated data to deliver a unified view of the entire organization.
"We see a lot of growth potential in expanding Birst’s Cloud offerings to regions such as Canada, where organizations are turning to SaaS solutions to harness data issues and drive faster time to value,” said David Dyer, vice president of worldwide sales at Birst. “Jim's track record and skills are perfectly suited to grow our presence in this region. He is highly solutions oriented, with a deep understanding of customer needs, and he is a great addition to our leadership team.”
Broadley oversees direct sales and Canadian marketing and alliance partnerships for Birst Canada. He brings a successful track record of building high-growth companies in enterprise software segments such as business intelligence, big data and data warehousing.
Broadley joined Birst from Information Builders, where he led the Enterprise Accounts team in Canada. Previously, he built MicroStrategy's presence as Canadian country manager. He led Sales, Marketing, Services and Alliances and helped grow the business from $2.5 million to more than $20 million in revenues.
As Client Services Director of Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing for Oracle Canada, Broadley spearheaded data warehousing and decision support sales for some of Oracle Canada's largest accounts. Broadley also has held sales leadership positions at SAP, EMC, Pyramid Technology Corporation and GE Capital ITS.
"This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the inflection point in data analytics, where clients are turning to cloud-based solutions for faster time to value,” Broadley said. “The positive response I'm already seeing from Canadian CIOs reaffirms that Birst is well positioned to capitalize on these trends, given its passion and focus around Cloud, BI and Big Data, and track record helping customers achieve rapid time to value."
