Birst Appoints New CFO and Head of Worldwide Sales to Support Continued Global Growth

San Francisco, CA, –

Birst, the global leader in Cloud BI and Analytics, today announced the appointment of two executives to its executive leadership team: Sam Wolff as Chief Financial Officer and David Dyer as Vice President of Worldwide Sales. In Wolff’s new role, he is responsible for finance, information technology and legal operations while Dyer will oversee Birst’s worldwide sales team and will focus on growing its customer base.

“Both Sam and Dave are extremely accomplished executives with a wealth of experience in their respective areas,” said Jay Larson, CEO, Birst. “Sam’s financial and operational acumen will help us optimize the performance of our business. He will ensure that we scale our business in the most efficient way possible and he is already working to prepare us for the next phase in our company’s growth. Dave’s track record of driving profitable growth is extremely impressive. Having worked with him for five years at a previous company, I can say with great certainty that he is a leader and a star in the software industry.”

As Birst’s new CFO, Wolff brings nearly two decades of financial and accounting experience in the software and Internet industries, where he helped companies optimize financial operations and supported company growth. Before joining Birst, Wolff was CFO at BlueKai, a big data SaaS platform company that was acquired by Oracle in early 2014, where he helped the company achieve high levels of revenue and organizational growth. Prior to BlueKai, he held various finance roles at Yahoo! Inc., including VP of Finance for the American Sales & Marketplaces organization.

“Birst is the breakaway leader in Cloud BI, and I’m excited to help the company continue its high growth at scale,” said Sam Wolff, CFO, Birst. “I’m looking forward to working with the Birst team and driving best-in-class performance across every function.”

Dyer most recently served as SVP and General Manager of SAP’s Financial Services Market Unit, where he was responsible for sales and go-to-market functions. In this role he delivered significant year-over-year growth, while meeting profit margin targets. Dyer specializes in delivering business results, and previously worked for high-growth market leaders including SuccessFactors, Siebel Systems and Oracle Corporation.

“Birst’s position within the market and its continued leadership is nothing short of impressive. I’m excited to join the strong Birst sales team and to have an opportunity to help grow our business both in the US and around the world,” said David Dyer, Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Birst. “We’re building a sales team that will soon be the envy of every one of our competitors, and you can take that to the bank.”
