Birst Appoints Enterprise Software Veteran John McMahon to Board of Directors and Announces New Advisory Board

Birst Inc., the leader in Cloud BI, is proud to announce that John McMahon, an enterprise software expert with deep industry experience, has joined its board of directors. McMahon has a proven record of building and running world-class sales, marketing, and professional services organizations at leading software companies, and will use his expertise to help further extend Birst’s business intelligence platform to a wider customer base.

Birst also announced today its newly formed sales and marketing advisory board, created to help shape the company’s go to market initiatives and aid its rapid expansion into new geographies and market segments. New advisory board members include: Rob Bernshteyn, CEO of Coupa; Bill Binch, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations, at Marketo; Daniel Miller, Vice President of Finance and General Manager of the Software Vertical at NetSuite; and David Schneider, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Services at ServiceNow.

John McMahon currently serves on the board of directors for the log management and analytics company Sumo Logic and for the social media management infrastructure provider Sprinklr. Previously, McMahon worked as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Services at BMC Software. Prior to BMC, McMahon served as the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Customer Services for BladeLogic. During his tenure at BladeLogic, the company experienced 100 percent year over year growth and McMahon played a key role in transforming the company from its start-up stages to its successful IPO in 2007 and ultimately its $872 million acquisition by BMC Software. He has also been a senior manager at GeoTel, Ariba, and Parametric Technology Corporation.
