Birst Live Access enables organizations to leverage their existing investments in Microsoft Analysis Services and Hyperion Essbase cubes. Birst connects to SSAS and Essbase instances and queries existing cubes securely and in real-time right behind the customer firewall. No data extraction is required and no data needs to be replicated in the cloud.
Using Birst’s data federation capabilities, data in existing cubes can be combined with other data sources, both uploaded to Birst and accessed via Live Access, for new and more powerful types of analysis and reporting. When setting up Birst Live Access for MS Analysis Services and Hyperion Essbase cubes, all the metadata required to enable full querying of the cubes is automatically generated. As end users of Birst access dashboards, create reports and analyze the cube data, Birst generates the corresponding MDX queries automatically and fully transparent to the end users.
