A Step Closer to Friction Free Analytics
Friction-free analytics sounds cool, but does it have real meaning? For Birst, it does. It’s about reducing and eliminating the barriers that stand in the way of business users to find the analytical insights they need. We’ve long sought to do this through empowering business to self-serve whether that means building its own dashboards or reports, adding new data sources on-the-fly, and giving easy to use capabilities that diminish reliance on IT or others to get the answers needed.
This week Birst has raised the bar on friction-free analytics with the announcement of a new way to distribute data across an organization that we’re calling Distributed Business Analytics. For the first time, Birst is giving business users the ability to blend their individual data with that residing in a centralized, data warehouse, all without data movement or replication and not requiring the involvement of IT. No proliferation of data marts. No data feeds. All while ensuring the proper data security, governance, and integrity policies are strictly followed.
I encourage you to learn more about Distributed Business Analytics and understand why respected industry analyst Wayne Eckerson, Executive Director of the BI Leadership Forum states, it “will promote true ad hoc development within a corporate data infrastructure, eliminating the proliferation of spreadmarts that often comes with analytical activities.”
We're hosting a webinar on August 22 at 10:00 am PT entitled “Deliver the Data Warehouse to the Desktop” that will explain the new capabilities and how your organization can take advantage of it. Check it out by registering here.
